Description
All pottery items in the Clay series are made by Sanaa's skilled hands in North Lebanon, using only local clay and stones. Working with ancient techniques, this pottery is shaped by hand and wood-fired and may be used for cooking on an open flame (wood fire or gas hob) or in an oven.
These pans are traditionally used to fry eggs, but be creative! We like to use them as serving dishes for mezza too.
The small one is for 1 to 2 eggs, the medium one for about 3 to 4.
The first photo is showing the medium size.
Non-glazed, non-toxic, these dishes will add a natural touch to your table and, according to Sanaa, food cooked in this traditional pottery simply tastes better.
Before the first use, coat with a spoonful of olive oil and heat for a few minutes (seasoning). The pan will become slightly darker and will continue to turn darker with use, especially when used with heat. Recoat from time to time.
Note: Slight variations in colour and dimension are normal due to the handmade nature of this product. There may be little superficial cracks which are part of the charm. Each piece is one of a kind. Handwash recommended.
